Community Music Groups

Community Music Groups provide a space for students to connect with other students, for Grace Notes families to connect with other Grace Notes families, and for all students to continue to grow musically together as a group.

The format of Community Music Groups is flexible. Most of the time, students will be learning how to play the violin/fiddle together and preparing group pieces to perform at concerts and events throughout the broader community. Some classes, students may be paired with a practice buddy for extra supervised practice time or the students may perform for one another to receive feedback on their pieces. Younger students will learn rhythm and note-reading through group games, and they will listen to music and learn about composers and music history through stories and activities. Older students will have the opportunity to learn ensemble repertoire where each player has their own part that contributes to a greater music whole. Some nights we even open up our community music groups to the extended Grace Notes families and have potluck suppers for all parents and siblings. Every Community Music Group will include a healthy snack time.

Community Music Groups are for students ages 4-18. Students will be divided into groups based on their ages and playing abilities.

Community Music Groups are FREE of cost for all students taking individual lessons. All students are highly encouraged to join a Community Music Group!
